2026 New Year’s Health Resolutions

  1. Drink more water. Maintain at least 1.5 to 2 liters of water per day. Hydration is the key to supple skin and preserving energy levels throughout long, hectic days at work. Yes, you pee once an hour, but that gets rid of the toxins in your body. Use those restroom breaks as often as you’d like. This is your life.

  2. Get moving. One to two hours of exercise per day is important. We’ve been hearing about this since we could walk. How many of us are not walking 5,000 steps a day? It is a privilege to have pain-free joints. Utilize your working limbs to do something fun like ice skating or skiing. We are big on skiing here.

  3. Try a new exercise this year. If walking or running is not your thing, try hot yoga, pilates, biking, or hiking up a mountain. Those ocean views from atop a cliff are worth walking up treacherous paths. Hiking is a different sport from walking or running. It’s better. This winter season is the start of many other sports. If you can’t keep your feet parallel on skis, maybe try snowshoe walking!

  4. Try a new healthy food every day. This will keep your diet interesting with foods you have not eaten before. Eating oatmeal and granola becomes boring, especially on a diet, so try something new. Marinating eggs is a simple way to change how you eat eggs. By adding flavor to ordinary foods, you can stay on track.

  5. Laugh at least once a day. Joy can be found in the darkest places, if one remembers to seek the light. Laughter can reduce risk of certain diseases such as heart disease. It also makes mundane work days much more fun to look forward to. Healthy conversation with someone who makes you laugh could add more years to your life.
