Tips and Tricks For Style On The Slopes

As a ski girl, I know firsthand the importance of staying warm while skiing. Frostbite never looked cute on anyone. Wear wool baselayers to keep your body warm. The art of layering should be common knowledge.
For your upper body, start with a wool baselayer. It should cling to your skin. Then, add another wool or fleece midlayer to trap the heat. An optional step is to add a thin puffer vest. Wear the ski jacket as the last layer.
For your lower body, start with wool baselayer capri tights. Another pair of baselayer is optional, depending on how cold the day is. The insulated ski pants go on last, to conserve body heat.
Pull the Merino wool ski socks on. The tights should not go inside of the ski boot because it will constrict your foot’s movement.
Start with a wool neck gaiter or similar accessory to protect your face from the wind. You can add an optional beanie inside of the helmet to keep warm.
Always ski with a helmet on. As they say, no helmet, no steeze. You can add an over-helmet hood covering to keep your head insulated.
Keep a few hand warmers in your jacket pockets for the freezing ski lift rides. They will come in handy.
Wear glove or mitt liners inside of your ski gloves or mitts to keep your hands toasty!
Several ultra-famous über ski apparel brands reign supreme on the slopes: Arc’teryx, Burton, Columbia, Dope, Flylow, Helly Hansen, Mammut, Oakley, Obermeyer, Patagonia, Quiksilver, Rossignol, Sypder, and last, but not least The North Face.
These brands sell a vast variety of ski jackets, baselayers, midlayers, ski pants, bottom baselayers, gloves, mitts, liners, socks, hats, vests, and some sell ski equipment as well.
Anon, Atomic, Blenders, Bollé, Giro, Oakley, POC, Quiksilver, Salomon, Scott, Smith, and Spy are popular ski goggles.
A current trend is to match the ski jacket color with the ski pant color so you look like a solid color from a distance away.
Some colors pair easily with other colors. For example, black ski pants will go well with any other color. White ski pants can universally intermix with infinite jackets. A calming cerulean jacket can pair with peony pink pants, and vice versa.
Your ski helmet and goggles should match each other. A sleek uniform look is perfected by matching all four elements: helmet, goggles, jacket, and pants. A singular color will appear bright, bold, and beautiful on the ski slopes.
Sprucing up the colors with fun patterns or mix’n’matching the pants and jackets will also look put together.
Always shred the slopes in style. Stay safe while learning new moves like a 360 or hitting a ramp for the first time. The mountains are calling your name. How will you show up is up to you.
